Living for Christ:

01 - Sermon on the Mount
Focus

The Sermon on the Mount sets a high standard for the actions and attitudes of young leaders. These goals are not achievable in their own power so young leaders must get wisdom, power and strength from God in order to grow to spiritual maturity, as the Sermon directs.

Takeaway

Students will understand what the Kingdom of God is and how to live as citizens of the Kingdom in light of the power of the Holy Spirit.

02 - Growing In Faith
Focus

The following study focuses on growing in faith: what biblical faith is, some of the incorrect views of faith and the relationship of faith to miracles. The disciples (young leaders) saw Jesus do several miracles and needed help understanding the place of miracles.

Takeaway

Students will grow in both their understanding and practice of faith in a way that leads to a supernatural lifestyle.

Disciple Building: A Biblical Framework

 
03- Biblical Framework
Focus

Maturity is defined as becoming increasingly conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ. Maturity is a process, and it is progressive. A flexible framework provides support to the maturing process while recognizing that "God causes the growth" (1 Cor 3:6).

Takeaway

Students will understand how Christ made disciples along 5 progressive phases using 5 growth initiatives. They will gain a biblical framework for helping others grow.

A Small Groups Manual

 04 - Leading Small Groups
 
Focus

This module will demonstrate the need for small groups and give practical directions for starting your own progressive disciple building small group.

Takeaway

Students will begin their own small group studies using WDA’s Cornerstone Studies. These groups will provide an important ministry situation for your student to learn small group leadership.

Disciple Building: Life Coaching

 
 05 - Life Coaching
Focus

Students will life coach a younger believer to intentionally facilitate their growth. They will learn to use the “Christian Growth Checklist” and then then create a NGP (Needs, Goals, Projects) to help disciples grow in the area of need.

Students will understand how Christ made disciples along 5 progressive phases using 5 growth initiatives. They will gain a biblical framework for helping others grow.

Team Building

06- BEING A TEAM MEMBER  |  USING SPIRITUAL GIFTS 
 
Focus

The emphasis of this series of Pocket Principles is our need for others, and more specifically, on developing healthy teams.

 

Takeaway

Students will learn about their spiritual gifts through the Spiritual Gifts Inventory. They will grow to understand the connection between healthy families and healthy teams.

Spiritual Warfare - II 

07 - Spiritual Warfare
Focus

We must learn how to recognize spiritual warfare, protect ourselves in the midst of the battle, and defeat Satan using divine weapons.  We must be on guard and armed with weapons that are not “of this world”.

Takeaway

Students will understand dynamics of spiritual warfare, learn how to deal with demonic issues in the lives of others, and learn about inroads for spiritual attack.

How Emotional Problems Develop

08 - How Emotional Problems Develop
 
Focus

This module traces a discussion on healthy families that began in Team Building. It discusses sources of childhood pain, adult problems associated with childhood pain, and discusses the general process of emotional restoration.

Takeaway

Students will discuss sources of pain from their family of origin and understand the restorative process.​

Kingdom Growth 

 09 - Parables
Focus

There is nothing surreal or even particularly unusual about a farmer dropping seeds into the ground, a traveler being mugged along a deserted patch of road, or a rebellious son storming away from home.  These are common events. Yet, when featured in parables, they are used to communicate eternal truths.

Takeaway

Students will understand a "theology of the Kingdom" through the lens of Jesus' parables.

10 - Practical Outreach (Evangelism II)
 
Focus

Jesus knew that evangelism was not the job of one person but was the calling of every believer.  By reading the Scriptures, we can see that Jesus had a multifaceted training program for mentoring His disciples in the art of evangelism.

Takeaway
 

Students will design and implement evangelism projects with other students or with members from their Cornerstone groups.
